In 1988-89, as the MD of GURJARI, he co-founded the Kutchh Mahila Vikas Sansthan (KMVS), a body which is today actively driving the progress of Kutchh region and is recognised internationally for its work.

In Aug 1998 as the Vice Chairman and Managing Director of GIDC he set up Gujarat Cleaner Production Technology Center (GCPC) with a mission to promote green technologies in production processes. Today GCPC is one of the four regional Cleaner Production Centers in India and acts as an ENVIS centre for Ministry of Environment & Forests (MoEF) under “Chemicals, Wastes and Toxicology”. He also set up Bharuch Enviro Ltd for dealing with the environmental issues related to Dahej & Ankleshwar Industrial Estates. He also set up the Gujarat Industrial Security Force which today provides security service to various government departments. He encouraged development of public-private partnership projects in the Industrial estates and also set up Roefel Institute of Management in Vapi. He conceptualised & developed the project ‘Infocity’ – which is today considered as the hub of IT business in Gujarat.

As the CEO of GIDB in 2000-2001, he set up Infrastructure Finance Company Gujarat Ltd. As the Secretary of Department of Planning (Govt of Gujarat) from 2005-2007, he created Gujarat Social Infrastructure Development Board Society and the Commissionerate for Human Development.

As the Principal Secretary of Health Department in 2009, he expanded the medical infrastructure in the state by setting up Gujarat Medical Education & Research Society.

In 2012, as the ACS – Dept of Science & Technology, he set up BISAG Satellite Communication company.
